Some of the tasks can also be performed at your home or out on the street. For each successfully submitted task you will receive Experience Points. Who was invited to be a First50 and a First500?

From June 1st until June 10th Roamler was tested by a group of users spread all over the Netherlands: the First50. These users were invited by Roamler to use the app in the first phase so they could contribute to the development of the concept. Among this group of First50 members were business people, bloggers and employees of our launching partners. These users provided valuable information on the usability and development of Roamler, wrote about Roamler on their blogs and brought us in contact with possible new clients.

Some of the First500 were invited by a First50 member. The First50 members received a few invites and it was their decision to spread them wisely, at their discretion. Furthermore, the first people to sign up for the app were invited to be a First500 Roamler member. The Roamler community is still growing, but only by invitation. These invites are now spreading through registration, moderating the growth to guarantee quality to our Roamlers and our clients.

I submitted a task, but did not receive any money or Experience Points

Cash and Experience Points will be rewarded when your task has been verified. Only tasks executed at the right location and displaying the asked objects will be accepted. Tasks submitted between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. will be reviewed within four hours. Tasks submitted after 9 p.m. will be reviewed the next morning. Your account in the app is not yet automatically updated; you can update it by clicking the refresh button on the top right, under ‘account’. This allows you to view the Experience Points and the money you have earned.

Go back

Why is there a difference between experience points in ranking and account?

The ranking is based on your activity in the last seven days. Because of this, your experience points are lower than the points showed in account. Your total number of experience points can be found in account (in the app) or in dashboard on www.roamler.com.

I want to cash-out my balance

You can cash-out your balance whitin the app (account) or on your account on Roamler.com. Click the button 'cash-out'. Roamler works with PayPal, so you need a PayPal account first. You can cash-out any time you want. When you cash-out 20 euro's or more, Roamler will pay the transaction fees. Below 20 euro's cash-out, you will be charged for the transaction fee.

Why is Roamler constantly using information about my location (even when I’m not using the application)?

Your location service (based on masts) gives Roamler an indication of your whereabouts. Based on your location, Roamler will be able to send you push messages about available tasks. If you turn off your location service, you will not be able to see the location based tasks in Roamler. Using this location service provided by Apple could cause your battery to run out sooner than it normally would. If you close the app while operating in a task description screen, the battery runs out sooner. Make sure you leave the app from another screen. Another option is to turn off the location service when you are not on the move, for example when you are at home. This way, your battery will last longer and you can continue to use Roamler. Read more about the compass needle (in Dutch) on our blog.

Is it always allowed to take pictures for Roamler?

What is the 'Bootcamp to level 2'?

Roamlers start at level 1 with various tasks. By successfully completing a task, you can unlock other tasks. This way (if the tasks are completed successfully), you can get to level 2, where more paid tasks are available. Make sure you dont reject the job, in that case you won't be able to finish the Bootcamp.

Go back

When will I start making money?

You will start at level 0. After performing the welcome assignment, you will enter level 1. From that moment on you'll be able to execute the tasks Roamler has available. Starting at level 2 (from 500 Experience Points) you will get to perform paid tasks.

Go back

How will I be informed of new tasks?

Roamler will send you a push message when you are near an assignment. To get these messages, make sure your location service is turned on. Another way to find out about new tasks is to check out the ‘assignments’ screen (refresh with ‘pull down’). We will announce new tasks through @RoamlerNL or by sending a push message in the app.

I have a problem submitting my task

Because of network problems inside buildings, it might not be possible to submit your task immediately. Please try again later, for example when you are outside. Make sure you submit your task. Depending on your level, it might not be possible to accept another task. We are working on improving this process. You may want to perform a task that has already been completed by someone else. When you open your list of available assignments, it is not directly up to date. Refresh your task screen by hitting pull down to ensure a task has not already been completed. If you are still having trouble submitting your tasks, please contact us through the app (see Inbox), or e-mail us at support@roamler.com.

I cannot accept multiple tasks simultaneously

The amount of tasks you can accept in Roamler depends on your level. In level one, you can accept one task at a time; level three allows you to accept three tasks at a time. The maximum number of tasks you can simultaneously accept is five. You guessed it; in level five and up.

Go back

Why was my submitted task rejected?

If your performed task is rejected, you will receive a push message with an explanation why your submitted task was rejected. This could be because the photo does not match the description or because the location where the picture was taken is incorrect. If you still have questions about your rejected task, please contact us though the app, or send an e-mail to support@roamler.com

Go back

I accepted a task, but it shows up as incomplete in my ‘history’. Why is this?

When this happens, the time allowed for the task has probably elapsed. When you accept a task, you have two hours to complete it. By accepting a task, you ‘hold’ it. This is convenient when the task can only be completed by a certain number of Roamlers, or for scout tasks (location bound tasks) which are usually limited to one per location. If you think you will not be able to complete the task within two hours, you can always cancel it and complete it later (unless it has been completed by another Roamler).
